Travel to see “Kochia” in autumn at “Hitachi Seaside Park”

Flower Theme Park – the Park that focuses in flowers displaying “Hitachi Seaside Park” is one of the most important travelling spot of Ibaraki Prefecture.  The flowers displaying section is a wide field about 200 heaters.  There are many kinds of flowers take turning for you to see all year round.

 

And the highlight of this coming autumn is the fields of red shrubberies which is called “Kochia”, pronounced “Ko-Kia” in Japanese.  Kochia will turn from green to red since the end of September, and will be beautifully red in the beginning to mid of October.  The round shape and their astonished red lure a lot of tourists to visit and see this Kochia field every year.

 

 

Admission:

Adults 15 years of age and up : ¥410

Children 7 – 14 years of age : ¥80

Seniors 65 years of age and up : ¥210

 

 

Open hours:

9:30 am. – 5:00 pm. (March 1 – July 20 and September 1 – October 31)

9:30 am. – 6:00 pm. (July 21 – August 31)

9:30 – 4:30 pm. (November – the end of February)

 

 

Travelling from Tokyo:

Travel from Ueno Station by JR Joban Line and get off at Katsuta Station.

Exit at East Exit gate and get on Ibaraki Kotsu Bus at bus stop no. 2, get off at Kaihin Koen nichiguchi bus stop.

Or you can either take taxi from Katsuta Station to the Park.
